Quiche!!
Today I made a Swiss ham quiche, it was my first time and it actually came out pretty good. It didn't get burned so that made me very happy, I took out the pie crust added the Swiss cheese along with the ham and onions and mushrooms. After adding those ingredients I added the rest and placed it in the oven for about 45-50 minutes, surprisingly it was really easy to make it. My sister and my best friend tried it and they said it was good, I'm still waiting for my mom, she is the one that usually tells me constructive advice. She will be home soon and I just hope she likes it, I liked it so for me it was a job well done for being the first time. Today I also had my mentor meeting, we talked about my goals for this week and what else I plan to do for the rest of the week and for next week.

ReplyDeleteHam and swiss cheese Quiche:
1 cup (4 ounces) shredded swiss cheese
1 cup finely chooped cooked ham
2 green onions, sliced (I put regular onions)
1 unbaked 9-inch (4 cup volume) deep-dish pie shell
1 can (12 fluid ounces) Nestle carnation evaporated milk
3 large eggs
1/4 cup of all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
I also added mushrooms but that was just me:)
Preparation:
Preheat oven to 350 F
Sprinkle 1/2 cup of cheese, ham and green onions into the pie crust. Whisk together evaporated milk, eggs, flour, salt and pepper in large bowl. Pour mixture into pie shell: sprinkle with remaining cheese.
Bake for 45 to 50 minutes or until knife inserted near center comes out clean. Cool on wire rack for 10 minutes before serving.
I hope it comes out good, everyone loved it!
